So, we're sitting just before the submission date, here's a little retrospective. I really did quite enjoy this module, I'm a creative guy and this really allowed me to take advantage of that. I actually enjoyed working with my groupmates, and I feel we really came together, especially at the end and turned out a quality product. Our pitch went great, and that was awesome.
I really like the game we came out with too, it actually sounds like something I would play. I love steampunk, I liked the types of bad guys we came up with and I like the general concepts. It's really sweet. Hopefully our design doc does well.
A mistake I made was writing my blogs in my journal, I should have just done them online. It made me lazy in terms of transcribing. I also definitely should've been more forceful in terms of getting my group to come together and do work in the early stages, otherwise I think it's been fun.

Week 10: The Waltz
Ok so that goes to my friend Craig Boyle. He gave me the idea for the Waltz and I think it's genius considering it's a combat system based around a series of 3 inputs, it also has connotations of rhythm style and dance. Genius, I think.
Anyway I found a workaround for the huge moveset and got it down to (I think) 189 moves.
Anyway I found a workaround for the huge moveset and got it down to (I think) 189 moves.
- Input Commands: (on XBOX controller for the sake of example)
- X - Stabbing attack
- Y - Vertical Swings
- B - Horizontal Swings
- A - Jump
- LT - Dodge
- [XYB][XXY][XBX][YYB][XXX] So this is a series of 5 triplets. What a triplet does changes based on the triplet used before it. They are sorted into 7 sections. These are:
- Triple X [XXX]
- Triple Y [YYY]
- Triple B [BBB]
- Double X [XXY]
- [YYX]
- [YXY]
- [XYY]
- [YYB]
- [YBY]
- [BYY]
- Double Y [YYX]
- [YXY]
- [XYY]
- [YYB]
- [YBY]
- [BYY]
- Double B [BBX]
- [BXB]
- [XBB]
- [BBY]
- [BYB]
- [YBB]
- Button Mash [XYB]
- [BYX]
- [BXY]
- [YXB]
- [XBY]
- [YBX]
So that's what the combo works off of. I think this a stroke of genius.
